Liebster Blog Award

I am feeling quite chuffed to have been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award, from the lovely Renay at Mummy’s Miracles.

The Liebster is awarded to up-and-coming bloggers with less than 200 followers.

The conditions that go with being nominated are:

1.Each person must post 11 facts about themselves
2. Each person must answer 11 questions set by the person who tagged them
3. Each person must set 11 questions for the people they tag
4. You can then choose 11 people and link them to your post (they should have 200  followers or less)
5. Tell them you have tagged them.
6. Remember, no tag backs  – pay it forward

11 facts about me ~

1/ I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 23 years (since I was 9) and have four injections of insulin a day.

2/ I am a coeliac, which means I can’t eat any food that has gluten in it, or I get sick. (wheat, barley, rye, malt)

3/ I love acting, and was in a few plays when I was younger. I would love to get involved in community theatre, if I had the time.

4/ I used to write a lot of poetry when I was younger, but haven’t written much in the last few years.

5/ My mum lived with a foster family, and I have no contact with my father or his family, so my Mum is my only blood relative. Oh, and my daughter now! :)

6/ I went through a political phase when I was about 16, and joined a socialist youth organisation  called ‘Resistance’. We organised a few protests, one of the most publicised was a high school walk out, across the country to protest against Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.

7/ When I was a child, I went through a stage of being fascinated with insects, and had posters of them all over my wall.

8/ I could live on mashed potato and hot chips for the rest of my life.

9/ I had never had a broken bone in my life, until about three years ago, I broke  bones in my left foot and my right ankle at the same time, using the Nintendo Wii Fit. I kid you not.

10/ I am currently on my second year of maternity leave from my role as a coordinator of all the school crossing supervisors in a local council.

11/ I still sleep with a stuffed dog called Buster, whom I received for my first birthday.

Mummy’s Miracles 11 Questions for me ~

1.       What do you hope to gain from your blog?

Initially I started my blog to just write, and get things out of my head, almost like a type of self therapy, never expecting people to actually read it. I’m not sure I’m hoping to gain anything out of it, more just enjoying the ride, and seeing where it takes me.

2.       Who is your inspiration?

This is a tricky one! I don’t think I can pick one person. Many different people inspire me in different ways. The person who inspires me to be the best person I can be, is my daughter.

3.       What is your favourite “me” time?

Probably just mucking about on the internet, chatting online with friends, reading blog posts and articles.

4.       Who is your favourite singer/band?

My all time favorite singer is Madonna, and more recently Lily Allen.

5.       Who was your first celebrity crush?

Johnny Depp. Still is, and now that he’s single, who knows…. ;)

6.       What is your first childhood memory?

I can’t really remember much from my childhood.

7.       What thing could you not live without?

Literally- my insulin. Metaphorically – my husband and daughter.

8.       What is your dream pet?

A dachshund called Dasher. (Original, right?!)

9.       Who would you like to have dinner with? (Can be anyone)

My Nanny, (mum’s foster mother) who passed away many years ago. I would love for her to meet her great granddaughter, I know she would adore her.

10.   What  other names did your parents have picked out for you when you were born?

My mum wanted Prudence or Melody, but my father convinced her to call me Jane, after I was born.

11.   Who is your favourite Royal family member?

Prince Harry, I think he would be a lot of fun ;)

Now, my 11 questions for my nominated bloggers are ~

1/ How long have you been blogging for?

2/ Do you forgive and forget, or hold a grudge?

3/ If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

4/ Have you ever had your heart broken?

5/ Have you ever broken someone’s heart?

6/ What is the best meal you have ever cooked?

7/ What makes you laugh?

8/ What makes you cry?

9/ What’s your favourite book?

10/ If you could live in a TV show, what would you pick?

11/ Have you ever had any encounters with a celebrity?

Love getting to know you more Jane or should I call you Melody ;) Living with being a diabetic and coeliac must be hard at times hun as I can only imagine that even one of those would be let alone two! xx

Thanks Sonia. I find the day to day effects of coeliacs worse, as it is so restrictive on my diet, however the long term effects of my diabetes are effecting me a lot more now. (that’s the reason I have so many problems with my eyes, and can’t risk another baby) Funnily enough the injections have always been the least of an issue, I’m so used to them now, I rarely feel them :) xx

I’m really inspired with your writing talents as well as
with the format in your blog. Is that this a paid theme or did you
modify it your self? Either way stay up the nice high quality writing, it’s uncommon to
see a great weblog like this one today..
